Newcastle United welcomes Leicester City
Newcastle United welcomes Leicester City at the St. James’ Park in a game from the 21th round of the Premier League. During our usual English Premier League predictions we will have a look at this fixture and we are going to discuss it with you.
Newcastle United will try to get back on their feet after two consecutive losses in their last two games. On Saturday the Magpies hosted Everton, but they were unable to stop the Toffees’ manager Carlo Ancelotti from enjoying his first win with the visitors. The Swiss centre back Fabian Schar scored for the hosts, but Dominic Calvert-Lewin shined for the visitors and scored a brace.
How we said this was a second consecutive loss for Newcastle, because before this they lost against Manchester United at the Old Trafford, too. It’s a tough moment for the manager Steve Bruce and his boys, but now they have a chance to make some adjustments and eventually improve. But against Leicester they will have to do it without Ciaran Clark, Matt Ritchie and Allan Saint-Maximin, who are injured.
Leicester City are still second in the Premier League standings, despite of losing two of their last three games in the division. On Saturday they made a step in the right direction, travelling to London and beating West Ham United with 2-1 at the London Stadium. West Ham’s manager Manuel Pellegrini was sacked after this result. It was Kelechi Iheanacho and Demarai Gray who scored for the Foxes. The Spanish ace Ayoze Perez assisted for both goals.
At this moment Leicester are having four points advantage in front of the third Manchester City, but they have a game more, too. Against Newcastle the manager Brendan Rodgers will have to deal with the absence of the injured Matthew James.
That’s our English Premier League predictions for the clash between Newcastle United and Leicester City on Wednesday. Good luck!
